At Needham Dental we have developed our practice around
state-of-the-art technology and patient comfort. Our facility is
designed to make your visit quick and comfortable.
We are a green practice. We have successfully undertaken the
project of converting all paper files to digital records over last
three years and minimize all paper and chemical use in the office.
We are also a mercury free office. Five years ago we made a conscious
decision to remove all mercury based treatment in our office.
We are proud to say that we are a 100% mercury free office now.
Electric Handpiece, is the latest and the best which dentistry has to offer.
Electric handpieces have created a revolution in modern dentistry
and are now the paradigm in handpiece instrumentation.
Electric handpieces are not only non-intrusive and vibration free,
but are also quieter than regular handpieces. They create precise
margins and defined contours in less time. With constant torque and
rotation of up to 200,000 rpm, electric handpieces allow the procedure
time to go down significantly as most of the procedures can be
done more precisely and faster.
Soft Tissue Laser
Laser dentistry is precise way of performing many complex dental
procedures. Needham Dental is one of the few practices which perform
Laser Dentistry (less than 20% of dental offices in US have soft tissue
laser). Some of the major benefits of Laser Dentistry are:
• Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not
require sutures (stitches).
• Certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia.
• Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding because the high-energy light
beam aids in the clotting (coagulation) of exposed blood vessels,
thus inhibiting blood loss.
• Bacterial infections are minimized because the high-energy beam
sterilizes the area being worked on.
• Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized.
• Wounds heal faster and tissues can be regenerated.
Soft tissue laser is used for various procedure in our office including:
• Cold Sores
• Pocket Reduction
• Crown Lengthening
• Gummy Smile
• Muscle Attachment (Frenula)
• Soft Tissue Folds (Epulis)
After comprehensive research, we have implemented GenDex
digital radiograph system in our office. This technology provides
50% less radiation than conventional x-rays and the image can be
magnified 300 times its normal size to enhance the diagnosis. No
chemical bi-product is produced from these x-ray images, once again
in line with our philosophy of striving to become a environmentally
friendly and green office.
Most importantly, the images appear instantly and the doctor and
patient can review them immediately to treat an evolving condition
or the disease.
Advanced Imaging with Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras help with early detection of dental health
problems. We can instantly capture crystal clear images of up to
100 times magnification and display these on a high resolution screen.
By zooming in on problem areas, we are capable of seeing much more
than one could see with the normal human eye. Intraoral cameras also
help with finding the beginnings of periodontal disease or tooth decay,
that would have otherwise gone undetected.
The cutting edge technology deployed here at Needham Dental helps
with instant diagnosis of problem many times, which in the long run can
result in saving of the tooth and better oral health.
Patient comfort is our utmost goal. Starting with electronic check-in
to comfortable waiting area, we make sure that all our patients are
relaxed while in the office.
All our operatories are equipped with iPad or video for your
entertainment. You can watch shows on Netflix or listen to your choice
of music on Pandora. Free wifi is available to all patients while waiting
along with educational videos and magazines.
Our office is conveniently located in downtown Needham next to
Beth Israel Hospital and free underground parking is available
on the premises.
